Korean beauty has officially entered a new chapter. A landmark report released July 28 by consumer data firm Numerator confirms that K-beauty has surpassed $2 billion in U.S. sales — growing five times faster than the skincare industry as a whole — with 25% of American households now purchasing at least one K-beauty product.
Even more striking, household penetration has tripled since 2020, climbing from 8% to 25%, while repeat purchase rates have nearly doubled from 26% to 48%, signaling that Korean skincare is no longer a discovery phase phenomenon but a deeply embedded daily ritual. K-beauty skincare brands specifically posted 51% sales growth for the twelve months ending Q1 2026 versus the prior period, with the category winning shoppers away from established Western names like La Roche-Posay, The Ordinary, and Hero Cosmetics.
Numerator projects that 1 in 3 U.S. households could be buying K-beauty by 2030, while 84% of current buyers say they plan to maintain or increase their spending — a loyalty statistic that has the broader beauty industry taking notice.
